Who should attend ?

Those who will work in a multicultural environment and need good transcultural communications skills to achieve their objectives.


Objectives

  • Understand the complexity of crosscultural communications

  • Distinguish between communications problems and crosscultural communications problems.

  • Understand and use different forms of communication in crosscultural situations – verbal, non-verbal, written, silence/non-response, etc

  • How to prepare ; observe, listen, be clear and convincing in crosscultural business situations

  • Give the best possible image of oneself and one’s message in crosscultural communications


Course content

Workshops including :

 

  • Case studies to practise crosscultural situations based on participants’ situations – role plays, feedback and coaching

  • Identifying participants’ own cultural perceptions and putting them in a crosscultural context

  • Crosscultural gaffes and how to avoid them in meetings, interviews (sales and negotiation), socio/professional situations, written communications, etc

  • Build a model for understanding clients/partners from other cultures

  • Establish a crosscultural code of conduct

  • Prepare an action plan on returning to work
